Some things are just more important than God

and the World Cup is one of those things. Our staff demanded the right to watch the world's greatest sporting event in a country where people actually cared - so we moved the office to Buenos Aires. Now, however, we can't tear them away from the TV.

So LHG will be back, after World Cup.

PS. Comment of the day, from Oranguteena: "you sometimes remind me of Woody Allen." (Sad but true. Am just not aging well...)

it has nothing to do with your aesthetic. you both just talk a lot about sex and god. on a separate note, speaking of "radical social and cultural change," the UNICCO janitors at UM submitted their cards today: 70% of them signed cards in support of union representation, a month and a half ahead of schedule, and just in time for International Justice for Janitors Day. i'm not sure how international this holiday really is, but it commemorates the date in 1990 when a bunch of cops beat up a bunch of striking janitors in L.A., who were also largely immigrants (and who also ultimately won their strike). so i guess in that sense it is definitely international. anyways, after that they went to the mall up on s. dixie and nova univ (both cleaned by unicco, and both the sites of some pro-union agitation at the moment). a flowering of organized labor starting from the university of miami - how is that for radical social change?

you should read an article in the times dated today, june 24, titled, "Schools' Efforts on Race Await Justices' Ruling." not only is it interesting and relevant, it also contains the priceless quote, "If children are in segregated schools, de facto or not, as long as they are getting the education they need that's fine." And a few other gems, which make you wonder how people reach adulthood without hearing about the civil rights movement.
