Judas Iscariot, Savior

I bet you've betrayed with a kiss

For all the recent hoopla surrounding the Gospel of Judas, the best retelling of Judas' treason remains Borges' short story "Three Versions of Judas." It makes Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code look as controversial as Sunday brunch.

Read it, and spread the word.

I can´t say if it´s fair for cristians to believe in Judas as Borges writes in this short story. But I do think that it makes a good point to think of an expansion of the moral limits (that go farther than they have up to here).
It´s hard to understand the possible motives of this Judas, but it is amazing the radical possibility to go farther than anyone else: he truelly reaches a "limitless asceticism". I think that should be analized. And understood from his optic.
By the way, what do you think Elivo about the movie with William Defoe -The Last Temptation of Christ-?
There´s also a part of Borges´s story ("God did
not wish His terrible secret propagated in the world") that reminds me of a movie I liked a lot called "pi", by Darren Aronofsky.
Pleasure reading your blog LHG. I´ll be reading tomorrow too, so ´till then. Benji.-
